Adjustment Of Status & Green Card

Experienced Attorneys Helping Immigrants Stay In the U.S.

We at the Washington Immigration Law Firm know how important it is for people to have security in their immigration status. Our attorneys have helped many clients who want to stay in the U.S. obtain their green cards. We can help you, too.

Getting a green card can give you more security in your immigration status. It is also the first step in applying to become a U.S. citizen. For assistance with your adjustment of status, contact our firm today. Hablamos español.

We Know The Application Process Is Complicated. We’re Here To Help.

If you are already in the United States, you may be eligible for an adjustment of status based on your:

  • Family, if a family member is a U.S. citizen or green card holder
  • Spouse or Domestic partner
  • Employment
  • Asylum or refugee status

We can guide you through every step. A complete and thorough application gives you a greater chance of having your request approved.

Once our clients have filed their petition and a visa becomes available, we help them prepare and submit the I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residency or Adjust Status. If an interview is required as part of the process, we will prepare them for that as well. We work with our clients throughout the process and answer any questions that come up.

If you are outside the U.S. or are here but not eligible for an adjustment of status, we can help you get a green card through consular processing. This involves getting a visa in your home country and entering the U.S. as a permanent resident. This process can be more complicated, but we are here to make it as easy as possible.

If your application for adjustment of status has been denied, you may be able to appeal. We will work with you to try to get your green card approved on the second try.
